Effect of fertilizers on yield, phytochemical, and antioxidant properties of Cucurbita moschata fruits

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 12, Issue 9, Page 6742-6751, September 2024.
This study explores the impact of different organic fertilizers on the yield and nutritional properties of Cucurbita moschata. It was found that a mixture of ash and bovine compost significantly enhanced the yield, phytochemical content, and antioxidant potential of the squashes, suggesting its potential as an effective organic fertilizer. Abstract The

The sensitivity of root water uptake to cold root temperature follows species‐specific upper elevational distribution limits of temperate tree species

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 47, Issue 6, Page 2192-2205, June 2024.
Abstract Physiological water stress induced by low root temperatures might contribute to species‐specific climatic limits of tree distribution. We investigated the low temperature sensitivity of root water uptake and transport in seedlings of 16 European tree species which reach their natural upper elevation distribution limits at different distances ...

Latitude or altitude as the future refugium? A case for the future of forests in Asia Minor and its surroundings

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2024.
Determining potential eco‐refugia or any future range shift for woody taxa requires a clear assessment of what an uncertain future may hold for these potential climate change mitigators in their native ranges. By means of a process‐based dynamic vegetation model and high resolution climate data, we simulated the potential forest ranges for the ...

Minimal information for studies of extracellular vesicles (MISEV2023): From basic to advanced approaches

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 13, Issue 2, February 2024.
Abstract Extracellular vesicles (EVs), through their complex cargo, can reflect the state of their cell of origin and change the functions and phenotypes of other cells. These features indicate strong biomarker and therapeutic potential and have generated broad interest, as evidenced by the steady year‐on‐year increase in the numbers of scientific ...

Cell expansion-division under resource limitation: a novel framework for modeling fruit growth dynamics

open access: yesbioRxiv
Fruit growth is determined by cell expansion and division, processes that are closely linked to the availability and allocation of resources. By influencing environmental and growing conditions, agricultural practices affect these processes and ...

La consistance des êtres collectifs. Contribuer avec Peirce à une sociologie de l’engagement

open access: yesSociologies, 2017
Every engagement binds the one who engages himself or is engaged to what, with whom, for what, in what... he engages or is engaged. Through these links, it therefore contributes to making the collective, whether it builds on its previous consistency ...

A Process-Based Model of TCA Cycle Functioning to Analyze Citrate Accumulation in Pre- and Post-Harvest Fruits.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Citrate is one of the most important organic acids in many fruits and its concentration plays a critical role in organoleptic properties. The regulation of citrate accumulation throughout fruit development, and the origins of the phenotypic variability ...

Approche expérimentale de l'impact des oiseaux piscivores sur une pisciculture extensive littoral

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 1993

open access: yesSociologies, 2012
Any critical sociology assumes a reference to a normative horizon based on the defense of critical positions. This normative horizon remains sometimes, or even often, implicit probably because its explanation seems to infringe the imperative of ...
