MMP9High Neutrophils are Critical Mediators of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation and Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

Single Test‐Based Diagnosis and Subtyping of Pulmonary Hypertension Caused by Fibrosing Mediastinitis Using Plasma Metabolic Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pulmonary hypertension caused by fibrosing mediastinitis has a five‐year survival rate of just 56%. Current diagnostic approaches are complex for patients with mobility limitations and can lead to misdiagnoses due to their nonspecific clinical features.

Identification of NIBAN2‐Regulated RUNX2 Alternative Splicing Presents Novel Strategies for Antagonizing Osteoporosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NIBAN2 interacts with the HNRNPU‐cored spliceosome complex and alters its components to regulate the alternative splicing of RUNX2, which ultimately cause an increase in functional RUNX2 (nuclear localization sequence complete) but a decrease in dysfunctional Runx2 (exon 6‐exclusive) isoforms to reinforce osteoblast differentiation.
