MMP9High Neutrophils are Critical Mediators of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation and Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

Deciphering the Metabolic Impact and Clinical Relevance of N‐Glycosylation in Colorectal Cancer through Comprehensive Glycoproteomic Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The comprehensive proteomic and N‐glycoproteomic analyses of 45 colorectal cancer tissues with matched normal adjacent tissues identified 7125 intact N‐glycopeptides from 704 glycoproteins. A glycosylation site‐protein function network revealing metabolic dysregulation is constructed and a model differentiating tumors from normal tissues is developed ...

Nuclear‐Localized BCKDK Facilitates Homologous Recombination Repair to Support Breast Cancer Progression and Therapy Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under DNA damage, tumor cells rely on efficient DNA repair for survival and therapy resistance. This study has demonstrated that BCKDK localizes to breast cancer cell nuclei, where it binds to and phosphorylates RNF8, thereby blocking ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of RAD51 and enhancing HRR. A selective BCKDK inhibitor synergizes with clinical agents,

Vold, køn og kultur – en etnografisk tilgang

open access: yesKvinder, Køn & Forskning, 2017
Violence, gender and culture – an ethnographic approach. This article explores how an ethnographic approach to the study of violence against women (VAW) can provide insight into a particular gender culture with particular gender logic(s).

Demographic Representation and Collective Storytelling in the Me Too Twitter Hashtag Activism Movement [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The #MeToo movement on Twitter has drawn attention to the pervasive nature of sexual harassment and violence. While #MeToo has been praised for providing support for self-disclosures of harassment or violence and shifting societal response, it has also been criticized for exemplifying how women of color have been discounted for their historical ...

Annexin A3 Represses Endothelial Permeability and Inflammation During Sepsis via Actin Cytoskeleton Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Annexin A3 (ANXA3) plays an endogenous protective role in endothelial dysfunction in sepsis by stabilizing the actin cytoskeleton, modulating cell permeability, and inhibiting pATF2/CD62E inflammatory signaling. Abstract Increased endothelial permeability and a dysregulated inflammatory response play key roles in organ damage in sepsis.

PRMT1‐Mediated SWI/SNF Complex Recruitment via SMARCC1 Drives IGF2BP2 Transcription to Enhance Carboplatin Resistance in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PRMT1 drives carboplatin resistance and tumor progression in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) through a novel, methyltransferase‐independent mechanism. It recruits the SWI/SNF complex to activate IGF2BP2, promoting tumor growth and carboplatin resistance. PBX2 upregulates PRMT1, reinforcing this pathway. This study uncovers a non‐catalytic

Identification of CD38high Monocyte as a Candidate Diagnostic Biomarker and Therapeutic Target for Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that CD38high monocytes discriminate sepsis and sterile inflammation and are associated with 28‐day mortality in bacterial sepsis. Targeting CD38 therapy reduces inflammatory response in monocytes and in sepsis mice model. Mechanistically, CD38‐HIF‐1α/glycolysis/MGO loop exacerbates sepsis‐induced immune dysregulation.
