The ParaHox gene cluster is an evolutionary sister of the Hox gene cluster
Nature, 1998Genes of the Hox cluster are restricted to the animal kingdom and play a central role in axial patterning in divergent animal phyla. Despite its evolutionary and developmental significance, the origin of the Hox gene cluster is obscure. The consensus is that a primordial Hox cluster arose by tandem gene duplication close to animal origins.

Mycotoxin Genetics and Gene Clusters
European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2002Fungi produce low molecular weight secondary metabolites such as antibiotics and mycotoxins. Antibiotics cure diseases whereas mycotoxins cause diseases in plants, animals and human beings. Species such as Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium and Stachybotrys are known to produce mycotoxins that accumulate in processed foods and feeds, although the ...

Rotation Clustering: A Consensus Clustering Approach to Cluster Gene Expression Data
2017In this work we present Rotation clustering, a novel method for consensus clustering inspired by the classifier ensemble model Rotation Forest. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in a real world application, the identification of enriched gene sets in a TCGA dataset derived from a clinical study on Glioblastoma multiforme.

Genes that are more closely spaced on the chromosome than expected by chance are said to be spatially clustered. Standard tests of clustering versus uniformity do not take into account two important features of genes-the high variability of gene length and the low probability that gene locations overlap (exclusion).
