Aptamer Engineering: Strategies for Discovering Functional Nucleic Acids for Next‐Generation Diagnostics and Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The advent of aptamers has highlighted their potential as alternatives to antibodies, overcoming limitations of structural instability and production cost. However, conventional approaches such as SELEX remain slow and labor‐intensive. This review examines recent advances in aptamer engineering, emphasizing in vitro and AI‐driven in silico strategies ...

In Situ Assembly of Transformable Monopeptide on Activated Neutrophils Attenuates NETs‐Induced Hepatocellular Carcinoma Metastasis by Disrupting NE Nuclear Translocation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Activated neutrophils release extracellular traps (NETs) that promote tumor metastasis. FTP‐NPs are develpoed, a peptidic nanomaterial that binds NE on neutrophil membranes, forming NE‐fibril clusters that deactivate NE and prevent NETs formation. This strategy reduces metastasis and enhances the anti‐tumor immune response by targeting NE subcellular ...

Thermally Gated Dual‐Cascade Nanozyme for Enhanced Mild‐Temperature Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thermo‐responsive cascade nanozyme (Ru‐GOx‐PNN) synergistically enhances mild photothermal therapy by dual suppression of HSP70 through ROS‐induced lipid peroxidation and ATP depletion. This intelligent system effectively overcomes thermotolerance and amplifies apoptosis, offering a safe and precise strategy for tumor treatment.

Reticular Chemistry: A Versatile Platform for Engineering Heterogenous Biocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rational design of reticular‐based heterogeneous biocatalysts enables significant enhancement in enzyme activity recovery and even achieves catalytic performance beyond native enzymes. Abstract Reticular materials, including metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs), have emerged ...

Cross‐Platform Biosensing of Immune Receptors Using Peptide‐Functionalized Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A peptide‐functionalized graphene biosensor enables sensitive and selective detection of living immune cells. Targeting Formyl‐Peptide Receptor 2 (FPR2), the assay is demonstrated on model cells and primary human neutrophils. The same assay is applied to two complementary platforms: graphene‐enhanced surface plasmon resonance for optical benchmarking ...

RanBALL: An Ensemble Machine Learning Framework for Accurate Subtype Identification of Pediatric B‐Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Here, we present RanBALL, an ensemble random projection‐based model for accurate and cost‐effective identification of B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia subtypes is presented. By preserving patient‐to‐patient distance after dimension reduction by random projection and ensemble learning, RanBALL can facilitate the discovery of B‐ALL subtype‐specific ...

Pangenomes as a framework for adaptive radiation, speciation, and adaptation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding the genomic basis of diversification is a central goal in evolutionary biology. In recent years, the development and use of pangenomes, a genomic representation of multiple individuals within a lineage (a set of related populations, subspecies, ecotypes, or species), has enabled researchers to differentiate between DNA sequences ...
