The effects of climate change on the risk of cold stress in autumn crop pattern ( Case study : Tropical and subtropical areas of Kerman province) [PDF]

open access: yesمخاطرات محیط طبیعی, 2020
This research was carried out to evaluate the effect of climate change on changes in cold stress on potato plants in tropical regions of Kerman province. In this study, changes in the occurrence of cold stress in the observation data of three stations of

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

Comparison of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and SDSM Model to Downscaling of Temperature [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2017
In this study downscaling of temperature was down in Tajan Plain located in the province of Mazandaran. The result of atmospheric general circulation models was obtained with HadCM3 climate model under scenario A2. Since the output of atmospheric general

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Coupling general ocean circulation models with the BFM marine ecosystem model

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2018
The coupling of numerical geophysical models of a sea with marine ecosystem models is considered. For the latter, BFM was chosen and coupled with three Russian models for three seas of different spatial scales: the White Sea (JASMINE), the Arctic Ocean ...

Seasonal variability in the Central Mediterranean Sea circulation [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2003
A high resolution eddy-resolving primitive equation numerical model, based on the Princeton Ocean Model (POM), is used to study the seasonal variability of the general circulation in the Central Mediterranean Sea.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

The tropical circulation: Simple model versus general circulation model

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1990
AbstractAn attempt is made to simulate two general‐circulation‐model‐produced February climatologies in the tropics (from the GISS and the LMD GCMs), using a linear steady‐state multi‐layer primitive equations model which is forced thermally. A hypothesis‐testing strategy is used to quantify the simulations of the target climatologies taking into ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
