Optimized Time–Frequency Analysis for Induction Motor Fault Detection Using Hybrid Differential Evolution and Deep Learning Techniques

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Workflow of the parameter optimization process for ITSC fault detection, applying Differential Evolution optimization and the Smooth Pseudo Wigner‐Ville Distribution for signal processing. The optimized parameters are then used in the failure identification pipeline, which combines the signal processing with a YOLO‐based architecture for fault severity

Improving Extractions of |Vcb| and the b Quark Mass from Semileptonic Inclusive B Decay

open access: yes, 2004
Recent advances in improving extractions of |Vcb| and m_b from spectra of semileptonic inclusive B decay are reported. Results of a general moment analysis of the lepton energy spectrum and the hadronic invariant mass spectrum are summarized.

Data‐Driven Distributed Safe Control Design for Multi‐Agent Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper presents a data‐driven control barrier function (CBF) technique for ensuring safe control of multi‐agent systems (MASs) with uncertain linear dynamics. A data‐driven quadratic programming (QP) optimization is first developed for CBF‐based safe control of single‐agent systems using a nonlinear controller. This approach is then extended to the

General decay estimate for coupled plate problem with memory

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics, 2022
This article considers a coupled system of non-linear plate equations with partially hinged boundary conditions. By assuming general conditions on the relaxation functions, we show that the associated energy functional satisfy a general decay estimate ...

Double beta decay in the generalized-seniority scheme

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1989
Abstract A generalized-seniority truncation scheme is used in shell-model calculations of double beta decay matrix elements. Calculations are carried out for 76 Ge, 82 Se and 128,130 Te. Matrix elements calculated for the two-neutrino decay mode are small compared to weak-coupling shell-model calculations and support the suppression mechanism ...

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Infrared Neural Stimulation Elicits Distinct Molecular Pathways in Astrocytes Based on Laser Pulse Parameters

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Infrared (IR) light evokes distinct calcium and water transport responses in astrocytes, depending on stimulation duration and protocol. This study uses widefield imaging and pharmacology to reveal differential engagement of astroglial signaling pathways.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

An Analysis of the Decay $B \rightarrow D^* X \ell \bar\nu_\ell$ with Predictions from Heavy Quark and Chiral Symmetry

open access: yes, 1992
This paper considers the implications of the heavy quark and chiral symmetries for the semi-leptonic decay $B \rightarrow D^* X \ell \bar \nu_\ell$. The general kinematic analysis for decays of the form {\sl pseudoscalar meson $\rightarrow$ vector meson $
