Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

A note on compact and compact circular edge-colorings of graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2008
In the paper we study two variants of edge-coloring of edge-weighted graphs, namely compact edge-coloring and circular compact edge-coloring. First, we discuss relations between these two coloring models.

Color Structured Light Stripe Edge Detection Method Based on Generative Adversarial Networks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The one-shot structured light method using a color stripe pattern can provide a dense point cloud in a short time. However, the influence of noise and the complex characteristics of scenes still make the task of detecting the color stripe edges in deformed pattern images difficult.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

The Relationship Between the Distinguishing Number and the Distinguishing Index with the Detection Number

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2020
Introduction The graph is a mathematical model for a discrete set whose members are interlinked in some way. The members of this collection can be the different parts of the earth and the connections between them are bridges that tie them together (like ...

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Kekulé Structure of Angularly Connected Even Ring Systems

open access: yesAxioms
An even ring system G is a simple 2-connected plane graph with all interior vertices of degree 3, all exterior vertices of either degree 2 or 3, and all finite faces of an even length.

Edge Detection Method Based on General Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Applied to Color Images [PDF]

open access: yesInformation, 2017
This paper presents a new general type-2 fuzzy logic method for edge detection applied to color format images. The proposed algorithm combines the methodology based on the image gradients and general type-2 fuzzy logic theory to provide a powerful edge detection method. General type-2 fuzzy inference systems are approximated using the α-planes approach.
