Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Wassily Leontief and Léon Walras: the Production as a Circular Flow [PDF]
Leontief’s input-output models are usually viewed as simplified classical (neo-Ricardian) models. However, this interpretation hides two opposed views. On the one hand, the common interpretation, based on Koopmans and Samuelson’s works, considers the so ...

A statistical mechanics of an oscillator associative memory with scattered natural frequencies
Analytic treatment of a non-equilibrium random system with large degrees of freedoms is one of most important problems of physics. However, little research has been done on this problem as far as we know. In this paper, we propose a new mean field theory

This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Paradoxes of Perfect Foresight in General Equilibrium Theory [PDF]
Intertemporal General Equilibrium Theory cannot be used to settle the Capital Controversy. The device of using dated commodities to avoid dynamic analysis excludes, artificially, strategic behaviour. The auctioneer plays an unsuspectedly stronger role in

This study investigates how tramp elements from increased scrap usage influence phase transformations in low‐alloyed steel. Combining dilatometry and microscopy reveal that tramp elements delay transformations, reduce critical cooling rates and increase hardenability.

Moral Judgment in States of Deliberative Equilibrium
Ethical theory examines human action in general terms, whereas moral judgment takes place in particular situations. These situations often cannot be subsumed easily under general norms and call for a delicate balance of norms and circumstances.

A Topology Optimization Framework for the Inverse Design of Nonlinear Mechanical Metamaterials
This work uses topology optimization to design unit cells for mechanical metamaterials with a prescribed nonlinear stress–strain response. The framework adds contact and postbuckling modeling to synthesize microstructures for three highly nonlinear responses, including pseudoductile behavior, monostable with snap‐through buckling, and bistable ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Introducing CGE Models to the Classroom Using EXCEL [PDF]
This paper demonstrates how simple general equilibrium models can be solved with the help of Microsoft Excel. Two different general equilibrium models for tax incidence analysis are used as illustrative examples.
