Implementation of explicit Nordsieck methods with inherent quadratic stability
The present paper deals with the implementation in a variable-step algorithm of general linear methods in Nordsieck form with inherent quadratic stability and large stability regions constructed recently by Braś and Cardone. Various implementation issues

Nordsieck methods with inherent quadratic stability
We derive suffcient conditions which guarantee that the stability polynomial of Nordsieck method for ordinary differential equations has only two nonzero roots. Examples of such methods up to order four are presented which are A-and L-stable.

Optimization-based search for nordsieck methods of high order with quadratic stability polynomials
We describe the search for explicit general linear methods in Nordsieck form for which the stability function has only two nonzero roots. This search is based on state-of-the-art optimization software.

The Z5 transformation for solving quasi-linear partial differential equations
The Z1-Z4 transformations proposed in our previous papers have acquired remarkable success in the field of linear partial differential equations, general solutions of a large number of typical equations were obtained for the first time, and exact ...

A practical approach for the derivation of algebraically stable two-step Runge-Kutta methods
We describe an algorithm, based on a new strategy recently proposed by Hewitt and Hill in the context of general linear methods, for the construction of algebraically stable two-step Runge-Kutta methods.

Empirical risk minimization as parameter choice rule for general linear regularization methods.
We consider the statistical inverse problem to recover f from noisy measurements Y = Tf + sigma xi where xi is Gaussian white noise and T a compact operator between Hilbert spaces.

Model Reduction by Moment Matching for Linear Switched Systems [PDF]
Two moment-matching methods for model reduction of linear switched systems (LSSs) are presented. The methods are similar to the Krylov subspace methods used for moment matching for linear systems.

Strong Stability Preserving Multistage Integration Methods
In this paper we systematically investigate explicit strong stability preserving (SSP) multistage integration methods, a subclass of general linear methods (GLMs), of order p and stage order q ≤ p.

Dimensionality Reduction Mappings [PDF]
A wealth of powerful dimensionality reduction methods has been established which can be used for data visualization and preprocessing. These are accompanied by formal evaluation schemes, which allow a quantitative evaluation along general principles and ...
