Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A non-associative quantum mechanics

open access: yes, 2005
A non-associative quantum mechanics is proposed in which the product of three and more operators can be non-associative one. The multiplication rules of the octonions define the multiplication rules of the corresponding operators with quantum corrections.

A generalization of Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A bstractThe SYK model: fermions with a q-body, Gaussian-random, all-to-all interaction, is the first of a fascinating new class of solvable large N models.

A generalization of the Lupaș \(q\)-analogue of the Bernstein operator

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2016
We introduce a Stancu type generalization of the Lupaș \(q\)-analogue of the Bernstein operator via the parameter \(\alpha\). The construction of our operator is based on the generalization of Gauss identity involving \(q\)-integers.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Essential Spectra of Quasi-parabolic Composition Operators on Hardy Spaces of the Poly-disc

open access: yes, 2012
This work is a generalization of the results in [Gul] to bi-disc case. As in [Gul], quasi-parabolic composition operators on the Hilbert-Hardy space of the bi-disc are written as a linear combination of Toeplitz operators and Fourier multipliers.

Learning Cartographic Building Generalization with Deep Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesISPRS Int. J. Geo Inf., 2019
Cartographic generalization is a problem, which poses interesting challenges to automation. Whereas plenty of algorithms have been developed for the different sub-problems of generalization (e.g., simplification, displacement, aggregation), there are ...

A generalized Dunkl type modifications of Phillips operators

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
The main purpose of this present article is to discuss the convergence of Lebesgue measurable functions by providing a Dunkl generalization of Szász type operators known as Phillips operators. To achieve the results of a better way of uniform convergence

Approximation Properties of p,q-Szász-Mirakjan-Durrmeyer Operators

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2021
In this article, we introduce a new Durrmeyer-type generalization of p,q-Szász-Mirakjan operators using the p,q-gamma function of the second kind. The moments and central moments are obtained.
