CONVERGENCE OF A GENERALIZED SUBGRADIENT METHOD FOR NONDIFFERENTIABLE CONVEX-OPTIMIZATION
A generalized subgradient method is considered which uses the subgradients at previous iterations as well as the subgradient at current point. This method is a direct generalization of the usual subgradient method.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Regularization Paths for Generalized Linear Models via Coordinate Descent
We develop fast algorithms for estimation of generalized linear models with convex penalties. The models include linear regression, two-class logistic regression, and multi- nomial regression problems while the penalties include âÂÂ_1 (the lasso), à ...

On the stationary Cahn-Hilliard equation: Interior spike solutions
We study solutions of the stationary Cahn-Hilliard equation in a bounded smooth domain which have a spike in the interior. We show that a large class of interior points (the "nondegenerate peak" points) have the following property: there exist such ...

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

This paper investigates the application of β-open sets to the convergence analysis of nonautonomous evolution equations governed by maximal monotone operators in Hilbert spaces. β-open sets are a class of generalized open sets introduced by Njåstad (1965)

Absolutely convergent Fourier series and generalized Zygmund classes of functions
We investigate the order of magnitude of the modulus of smoothness of a function $f$ with absolutely convergent Fourier series. We give sufficient conditions in terms of the Fourier coefficients in order that $f$ belongs to one of the generalized Zygmund classes $(\mathrm{Zyg}(\alpha, L)$ and $(\mathrm{Zyg} (\alpha, 1/L)$, where $0\le \alpha\le 2$ and $

On the Strong Approximation of Jump-Diffusion Processes [PDF]
In financial modelling, filtering and other areas the underlying dynamics are often specified via stochastic differential equations (SDEs) of jump-diffusion type.

Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...
