A singular fractional Kelvin–Voigt model involving a nonlinear operator and their convergence properties

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2019
In this paper, we focus on a generalized singular fractional order Kelvin–Voigt model with a nonlinear operator. By using analytic techniques, the uniqueness of solution and an iterative scheme converging to the unique solution are established, which are

Sparse Generalized Eigenvalue Problem Via Smooth Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2015
In this paper, we consider an $\ell_{0}$-norm penalized formulation of the generalized eigenvalue problem (GEP), aimed at extracting the leading sparse generalized eigenvector of a matrix pair. The formulation involves maximization of a discontinuous nonconcave objective function over a nonconvex constraint set, and is therefore computationally ...

Eigenvibrations of a bar with load

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The differential eigenvalue problem describing eigenvibrations of an elastic bar with load is investigated. The problem has an increasing sequence of positive simple eigenvalues with limit point at infinity.

Eigenvalue and Generalized Eigenvalue Problems: Tutorial

open access: yes, 2019
This paper is a tutorial for eigenvalue and generalized eigenvalue problems. We first introduce eigenvalue problem, eigen-decomposition (spectral decomposition), and generalized eigenvalue problem. Then, we mention the optimization problems which yield to the eigenvalue and generalized eigenvalue problems. We also provide examples from machine learning,

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Asymptotic properties of the problem on eigenvibrations of the bar with attached load

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2020
The ordinary second-order differential eigenvalue problem describing eigenvibrations of an elastic bar with a load attached to its end was investigated. The problem has an increasing sequence of positive simple eigenvalues with a limit point at infinity.

A generalized inverse eigenvalue problem and m-functions [PDF]

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2021
In this manuscript, a generalized inverse eigenvalue problem is considered that involves a linear pencil $(z\mathcal{J}_{[0,n]}-\mathcal{H}_{[0,n]})$ of matrices arising in the theory of rational interpolation and biorthogonal rational functions. In addition to the reconstruction of the Hermitian matrix $\mathcal{H}_{[0,n]}$ with the entries $b_j's ...

Nonlocal Conduction in a Metawire

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A 1D metawire composed of twisted copper wires is designed and realized. This metamaterial exhibits pronounced effects of nonlocal electric conduction according to Ohm's law. The current at one location not only depends on the electric field at that location but also on other locations.

Photonics of Topological Magnetic Textures

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Localized noncollinear magetic textures imprint their geometry and topology onto traversing photonic fields endowing them with orbital angular‐momentum, chirality, and magnetoelectric densities. Abstract Topological textures in magnetically ordered materials are an important case studies for fundamental research with promising applications in data ...
