Let A A be a (possibly unbounded) linear operator on a Banach space X X that generates a bounded holomorphic semigroup of angle θ ( 0 > θ ≤ π / 2 ) \theta (0 > \theta \leq \pi /2) . We show that, if the range of

Smoothness of generalized inverses
AbstractThe paper is largely expository. It is shown that if a(x) is a smooth unital Banach algebra valued function of a parameter x, and if a(x) has a locally bounded generalized inverse in the algebra, then a generalized inverse of a(x) exists which is as smooth as a(x) is.

A geometrical interpretation of the inverse matrix
Utilizing a new method to structure parallellotopes, a geometrical interpretation of the inverse matrix is given, which includes the generalized inverse of full column rank or a full row rank matrices.

Inverse Generalized Maximum Flow Problems
A natural extension of maximum flow problems is called the generalized maximum flow problem taking into account the gain and loss factors for arcs. This paper investigates an inverse problem corresponding to this problem. It is to increase arc capacities

Generating generalized inverse Gaussian random variates by fast inversion
The inversion method for generating non-uniformly distributed random variates is a crucial part in many applications of Monte Carlo techniques, e.g., when low discrepancy sequences or copula based models are used. Unfortunately, closed form expressions of quantile functions of important distributions are often not available.

Matrix inverses along the core parts of three matrix decompositions
New characterizations for generalized inverses along the core parts of three matrix decompositions were investigated in this paper. Let $ A_{1} $, $ \hat{A}_{1} $ and $ \tilde{A}_{1} $ be the core parts of the core-nilpotent decomposition, the core-EP ...
