The Geometry of Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test [PDF]
The generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) for composite hypothesis testing problems is studied from a geometric perspective. An information-geometrical interpretation of the GLRT is proposed based on the geometry of curved exponential families.

A generalized likelihood ratio test for monitoring profile data. [PDF]
Profile data emerges when the quality of a product or process is characterized by a functional relationship among (input and output) variables. In this paper, we focus on the case where each profile has one response variable Y, one explanatory variable x, and the functional relationship between these two variables can be rather arbitrary.

Real-Time Detection of Incipient Inter-Turn Short Circuit and Sensor Faults in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives Based on Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test and Structural Analysis. [PDF]
This paper presents a robust model-based technique to detect multiple faults in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), namely inter-turn short circuit (ITSC) and encoder faults.

Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test for Adversarially Robust Hypothesis Testing [PDF]
Machine learning models are known to be susceptible to adversarial attacks which can cause misclassification by introducing small but well designed perturbations. In this paper, we consider a classical hypothesis testing problem in order to develop fundamental insight into defending against such adversarial perturbations.

Segmentation Method for Ship-Radiated Noise Using the Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test on an Ordinal Pattern Distribution [PDF]
Due to the diversity of ship-radiated noise (SRN), audio segmentation is an essential procedure in the ship statuses/categories identification. However, the existing segmentation methods are not suitable for the SRN because of the lack of prior knowledge.

When Is The Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test Optimal? [PDF]
Summary: The generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT), which is commonly used in composite hypothesis testing problems, is investigated. Conditions for asymptotic optimality of the GLRT in the Neyman-Pearson sense are studied and discussed. First, a general necessary and sufficient condition is established, and then based on this, a sufficient ...
