Vortices in a Generalized Maxwell-Higgs Model with Visible and Hidden Sectors [PDF]
We investigate the presence of vortices in generalized Maxwell-Higgs models with a hidden sector. The model engenders U(1)×U(1) symmetry, in a manner that the sectors are coupled via the visible magnetic permeability depending only on the hidden scalar ...

Viscoelasticity Modeling of Dielectric Elastomers by Kelvin Voigt-Generalized Maxwell Model. [PDF]
Dielectric elastomers (DEs) are polymer materials consisting of a network of polymer chains connected by covalent cross-links. This type of structural feature allows DEs to generate large displacement outputs owing to the nonlinear electromechanical coupling and time-dependent viscoelastic behavior.

A generalized Maxwell model for creep behavior of artery opening angle. [PDF]
An artery ring springs open into a sector after a radial cut. The opening angle characterizes the residual strain in the unloaded state, which is fundamental in understanding stress and strain in the vessel wall. A recent study revealed that the opening angle decreases with time if the artery is cut from the loaded state, while it increases if the cut ...

Generalized Maxwell–Higgs vortices in models with enhanced symmetry
AbstractTopological vortices in relativistic gauge theories in flat three-dimensional spacetime are investigated. We consider the symmetry$$\mathrm {U(1)}\times \cdots \times \mathrm {U(1)}$$U(1)×⋯×U(1), and for each$$\mathrm {U(1)}$$U(1)subgroup, a complex scalar field transforming under its action is introduced, as well as generalized permeabilities ...

BPS solutions to a generalized Maxwell–Higgs model [PDF]
We look for topological BPS solutions of an Abelian-Maxwell-Higgs theory endowed by non-standard kinetic terms to both gauge and scalar fields. Here, the non-usual dynamics are controlled by two positive functions, G(|ϕ|) and w(|ϕ|), which are related to the self-dual scalar potential V(|ϕ|) of the model by a fundamental constraint.

On the Self-Similar Asymptotics for Generalized Nonlinear Kinetic Maxwell Models [PDF]
Maxwell models for nonlinear kinetic equations have many applications in physics, dynamics of granular gases, economy, etc. In the present manuscript we consider such models from a very general point of view, including those with arbitrary polynomial non-linearities and in any dimension space.

Obtaining and modeling the relaxation modulus of self-healing asphalt mixtures
In this study, pure and self-healing asphalt mixture samples were obtained by adding capsules containing waste vegetable oil to mixtures at 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00% ratios.

Generalized fractional Maxwell model: Parameter estimation of a viscoelastic material [PDF]
In this paper, we show how fractional viscoelastic models can be efficient in the modeling of linear viscoelastic behavior, increasing the fitting accuracy of classic generalized viscoelastic models, such as the Generalized Maxwell model. Experimental data (Loss and Storage modulus in the frequency domain) were retrieved from a Dynamic Mechanical ...
