A class of linear viscoelastic models based on Bessel functions

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we investigate a general class of linear viscoelastic models whose creep and relaxation memory functions are expressed in Laplace domain by suitable ratios of modified Bessel functions of contiguous order. In time domain these functions are

Study on Mechanical Relaxations of 7075 (Al–Zn–Mg) and 2024 (Al–Cu–Mg) Alloys by Application of the Time-Temperature Superposition Principle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The viscoelastic response of commercial Al–Zn–Mg and Al–Cu–Mg alloys was measured with a dynamic-mechanical analyzer (DMA) as a function of the temperature (from 30 to 425ºC) and the loading frequency (from 0.01 to 150 Hz).

Linear modelling and Fourier spectroscopy of stress-relaxation in the cervical spine [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Single joints of the cervical spine were subject to axial compressive loads and the load relaxation recorded for 15 minutes. Isochronal plots of stress against strain were plotted for each specimen and showed high linear correlation coefficients (>0.955).

Ac conductivity and dielectric properties of CuFe1−xCrxO2 : Mg delafossite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The electrical and dielectric properties of CuFe(1−x)Cr(x)O(2) (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) powders, doped with 3% of Mg and prepared by solid-state reaction, were studied by broadband dielectric spectroscopy in the temperature range from −100 to 150 °C.

STRESS RELAXATION ON PROSTHETIC LAMINATED SOCKET MATERIALS

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2015
The mechanical properties of socket materials are decreasing with time because they have a time dependent nature. This research evaluated mechanical properties of the composite materials that used to fabricate prosthetic sockets.

Exploration of the charge transport mechanism, complex impedance, dielectric/electric modulus and energy storage characteristics of the aloe vera (Aloe Barbadensis Miller) plant

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Complex impedance spectra at room temperature in the frequency range of 8 Hz—5 MHz were measured on freshly cut leaf sections of the Aloe vera plant by AC impedance spectroscopy.

Analysis of the mechanical properties and short-term creep and stress relaxation of bamboo under hydrothermal treatment

open access: yesDiscover Materials
Bamboo’s potential as a construction material is limited by its natural straight form. Hydrothermal bending treatments enable curved shapes but often drastically reduce mechanical strength and cause elastic recovery. This study investigates the impact of
