Young's modulus and ?-relaxation of amorphous polymers [PDF]
The mechanical behaviour of polymers have been studied as a function of time and temperature. The influence of a critical temperature or critical strain rate have been pointed out which may be related to relaxation phenomena. This study, carried out on Poly Methyl Methacrylate, shows that this relaxation phenomena can be associated to the β-relaxation.

New normalized constant modulus algorithms with relaxation [PDF]
A new normalized constant modulus algorithm is proposed that has a more desirable error performance surface (EPS) than the existing constant modulus blind equalization algorithms. We show that for an autoregressive channel, a well-known class of undesirable local solutions (ULSs) does not exist.

Structural Relaxation Monitored by Instantaneous Shear Modulus [PDF]
This paper reports on aging of the silicone oil MS704 for sudden changes of temperature from 210.5 to 209.0 K and from 207.5 to 209.0 K studied by continuously monitoring the instantaneous shear modulus G‘. The results are interpreted within the Tool-Narayanaswamy formalism with a reduced time definition based on a recently proposed expression for the ...

Simple average expression for shear-stress relaxation modulus [PDF]
Focusing on isotropic elastic networks we propose a novel simple-average expression $G(t) = μ_A - h(t)$ for the computational determination of the shear-stress relaxation modulus $G(t)$ of a classical elastic solid or fluid and its equilibrium modulus $\G_{eq} = \lim_{t \to \infty} G(t)$. Here, $μ_A = G(0)$ characterizes the shear transformation of the

Instantaneous Modulus Test of Solid Propellant and the Impact on the Structural Integrity of the Charge [PDF]
Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) propellant is investigated in this study. At three initial tensile strain rates of 100 %/s, 50 %/s and 12 %/s, the propellant relaxation modulus tests are carried out, and the relaxation modulus curves of the ...

On weak regularity requirements of the relaxation modulus in viscoelasticity [PDF]
Abstract The existence and uniqueness of solution to a one-dimensional hyperbolic integro-differential problem arising in viscoelasticity is here considered. The kernel, in the linear viscoelasticity equation, represents the relaxation function which is characteristic of the considered material.
