A note on novel generalizations of the Maxwell fluid model
International Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics, 2012In this note we generalize the classical viscoelastic fluid model due to Maxwell to allow the relaxation time and the viscosity to depend on the stress. Such models are very useful in describing the response of geological and many other polymeric fluids.

Characterizing the Performance of the Conway‐Maxwell Poisson Generalized Linear Model
Risk Analysis, 2011Count data are pervasive in many areas of risk analysis; deaths, adverse health outcomes, infrastructure system failures, and traffic accidents are all recorded as count events, for example. Risk analysts often wish to estimate the probability distribution for the number of discrete events as part of doing a risk assessment.

A Nonlinear Generalized Maxwell Fluid Model for Viscoelastic Materials
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2001A nonlinear Maxwell fluid model consisting of a linear dashpot in series with a parallel arrangement of a linear spring and a second-order nonlinear spring, was developed. This configuration provides the flexibility necessary to describe both the stiffening and the softening responses of some viscoelastic materials. A noteworthy feature of the model is

A generalized viscoelastic Maxwell model for semisolid thixotropic alloys.
International Journal of Material Forming, 2010More advanced investigation of any thixoforming process gives evidence that apart from the typical thixotropy also some viscoelastic features can be observed, particularly at high volumetric solid fraction. From the micrographic analysis one can conclude that the elastic properties have the origin in the solid globules, which are deformed in a flow ...

Generalized Maxwell model for micro-cracked viscoelastic materials
International Journal of Damage Mechanics, 2015This paper aims to model the effective viscoelastic properties of micro-cracked materials based on the homogenization micro-macro approach. The isotropic case with random orientation and parallel distribution of micro-cracks in Burger and generalized Kelvin non-ageing linear viscoelastic solids was recently considered.

Generalized Maxwell Model as Viscoelastic Lubricant in Journal Bearing
Key Engineering Materials, 2011The hydrodynamic lubrication interest is still of great importance, so that more and more elaborated lubricants are considered. They, however, involve consequently more and more hydrodynamic complexity as a result of the rheological properties of the additives.

Modified and generalized single-element Maxwell viscoelastic model
Physical Review EIn this Letter, the single-element Maxwell model is generalized with respect to the wave vector and extended with a correction function that measures the reduced viscous response. This model has only two free parameters and avoids the attenuation-frequency locking present in the original model.

An implementation of the generalized Maxwell viscoelastic constitutive model
2014Viscoelastic problems deserve great interest in Computational Mechanics literature. In the last years different approaches have been proposed in order to model viscoelastic problems, as in the case of the generalized Maxwell model and its numerical implementation. In particular Kaliske and Rothert (M. Kaliske and H. Rothert, Comput.

A Fractional Order Generalized Maxwell-Slip Friction Model
Volume 5: 21st IEEE/ASME International Conference on Mechatronic and Embedded Systems and Applications (MESA); 49th Mechanisms and Robotics Conference (MR)Abstract In this paper, an accurate fractional order generalized Maxwell-slip (FO-GMS) model is proposed to improve the friction modeling performance. Properties of the proposed FO-GMS model are investigated with a comprehensive analysis of related modeling improvements.
