Exploring Black British African and Caribbean peoples' experiences of self‐harm and accessing support

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction It is important to understand the underrepresented experiences of self‐harm and accessing support among Black British African and Caribbean individuals because of the low uptake of support from formal healthcare providers. This study aimed to explore Black British individuals' thoughts, feelings and experiences of self‐harm, and ...

Polarization and Voluntary Compliance: The Impact of Ideological Extremity on the Effectiveness of Self‐Regulation

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT New governance models increasingly employ self‐regulation tools like pledges and nudges to achieve regulatory compliance. These approaches premise that voluntary compliance emerges from intrinsic motivation to cooperate rather than coercive measures. Central to their success is trust—both in government institutions and among citizens. However,

Instrumental Approach to Institutional Corruption: Explaining Performance‐Conditional Acceptance of Corruption Among Citizens in European Countries

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article explores the mechanisms through which institutional corruption and engagement in corruption at the societal level may be normalized to the extent that citizens adopt an instrumental approach to corruption. Such an approach means that the public accepts corrupt practices and sees them as reasonable, as long as they achieve results ...

Genericity of interactions with potentials being Morse functions

open access: yesGenericity of interactions with potentials being Morse functions
Potential functions defined on a d-dimensional lattice by nearest neighbor coupling are considered. The question is whether the potential functions are Morse functions. It is shown that for generic nearest neighbor couplings the potential functions are Morse functions for any system size.

The effects of bioturbation on porewater chemistry and early marine diagenesis: Evidence from a modern intertidal zone in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Early marine carbonate cements generally form in CaCO3‐supersaturated seawater at the seabed or shallow burial depths, resulting in syn‐sedimentary cemented firmgrounds and hardgrounds. The processes controlling early marine diagenesis are complex, particularly in coastal environments where geochemistry is influenced by different water sources

Coerced Volunteering: Provision of Frontline Social Services During Emergencies

open access: yesSocial Policy &Administration, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The study examines social service provision during emergencies, with the October 2023 war in Israel as a case study. Patients' Voices of Care Encounters and Organisational Influences on Existential Suffering in Cancer Care: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Caring Sciences, Volume 40, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Receiving a cancer diagnosis is often experienced as a violent life turn, evoking existential suffering. To promote health and alleviate suffering, it is crucial to acknowledge and respond to patients' existential needs. However, nurses frequently lack the time and resources to address these needs, and when cancer care is reduced ...

Is sortition the ideal? Examining public reactions to climate assemblies

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, Volume 47, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Policy interventions to address global warming have been politically controversial despite the scientific consensus that action is needed. Many environmental groups have thus demanded the use of deliberative mini‐publics (DMPs) or “climate assemblies” to give citizens direct influence over policymaking.

From SMILES Codes for Reactants and Products to Transition States With VeloxChem

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, Volume 47, Issue 18, July 5, 2026.
Initial guesses for transition state optimizations are produced from a mere input of reactant and product SMILES codes, and achieved by interpolating generated force fields for reactants and products. The entire workflow scheme is implemented in the VeloxChem software.
