Connected orbits in topological generalized quadrangles
We study generalized quadrangles. After an investigation of the subgeometries that are generated by arbitrary sets of vertices, we consider orbits of connected subgroups of the automorphism group of topological generalized quadrangles.

Two questions of Moorhouse on indiscernible locally finite generalized quadrangles
We settle two questions posed by G. Eric Moorhouse on the existence of locally finite generalized quadrangles with indiscernible ovoids or spreads.Comment: 9 pages (Submitted May ...

Flexibilizing inorganic thermoelectrics
This perspective reviews advances in flexible inorganic thermoelectric materials, covering ductile bulks, thin films, and fibers/yarns. It highlights strategies like warm metalworking, van der Waals material screening, orientation and sandwich engineering, and device integration, offering pathways to combine flexibility and performance for wearable ...

Astragalus ecomorphology in Quaternary elephantids
ABSTRACT The astragalus plays a fundamental role in the graviportal locomotion of proboscideans, reflecting the biomechanical constraints imposed by large body masses. This study analyses the morphological variability of the astragalus in Quaternary elephantids using linear biometry and 3D geometric morphometrics, incorporating an unpublished ...

On finite elation generalized quadrangles with symmetries
We study the structure of finite groups G which act as elation groups on finite generalized quadrangles and contain a full group of symmetries about some line through the base point.

ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel geometrically regularized gradient‐damage model for simulating dynamic mixed‐mode fracture in orthotropic materials with tension–compression asymmetry. In this model, a thermodynamic framework is formulated by incorporating damage dissipation into internal energy evolution, from which the constitutive relation and ...

An automated MATLAB framework for inverse photoacoustic analysis enables precise thermal characterization of complex multilayer films. Application to electrodeposited CuxSe reveals a stoichiometry‐dependent thermal conductivity governed by lattice anharmonicity, not grain‐size scattering, in these superionic materials. ABSTRACT Precise determination of

This study uses in situ synchrotron X‐ray diffraction at the German Electron Synchrotron to analyze low‐pressure carburizing (LPC) in steels. The findings reveal surface carbon saturation and carbide formation kinetics, and phase‐specific stress development during quenching. The results show carbide kinetics depend on steel grade and size, while stress
