High Entropy–Driven Performance Enhancement in Perovskite Oxides for Energy Conversion and Storage Systems

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
High‐entropy perovskite oxides enable tunable structures and properties through multi‐cation disorder and entropy stabilization. This review summarizes advances in synthesis, structural and defect engineering, and their applications in OER/ORR, CO2RR, and electrochemical energy storage, highlighting in situ characterization and modeling that clarify ...

Generalized Quadrangles and Projective Axes of Symmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate generalized quadrangles Γ that admit at least two projective axes of symmetry. We show that if there are three such axes incident with a common point x, then x is a translation point of Γ.

Translation ovoids of flock generalized quadrangles

open access: yes, 2004
We give a characterization of translation ovoids of flock generalized quadrangles. Then we prove that, if q=2e, each elation generalized quadrangle defined by a flock has a large class of translation ovoids which arise from semifields of dimension two ...

Elementary Steps of Energy Conversion in Strongly Correlated Systems: Beyond Single Quasiparticles and Rigid Bands

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This article reviews the fundamental consequences of strong correlations on excitations and elementary steps of energy conversion leading to new opportunities to control energy conversion. Examples include friction at surfaces, thermal transport, and photovoltaic energy conversion.

Enhancing the Ferroelectricity of MAPbI3 via Hydroxyl Groups to Boost Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The hydroxyl groups in (EOA)2PbBr4 enable a rearrangement of the polar MA+ ions in MAPbI3, which enhances the Ps‐electric field and promotes the separation of photogenerated carriers. Consequently, the (EOA)2PbBr4/MAPbI3 composite exhibits the enhanced CO production yield in photocatalytic CO2 reduction reactions.

Stability Evaluation and Parametric Optimization of Coal‐Concrete Composite Bearing Systems Under Mine‐Water‐Induced Deterioration: Experiments and FEINN Analysis

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Mine‐water immersion tests reveal pronounced coal weakening (vs. minor concrete degradation), identifying coal pillars as the stability‐limiting component in composite dams. A coupled FEINN framework quantifies extreme‐pressure stability and ranks multi‐parameter designs via a normalized multi‐indicator scheme, enabling optimized dam configuration for ...

Inter‐Material Transfer Learning for Accelerated Nanofluid Heat Transfer Prediction: A Machine Learning Approach for Energy Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study presents an inter‐material transfer learning framework for nanofluid heat transfer prediction in energy systems. By leveraging knowledge from Al2O3‐water data, the model accurately predicts hybrid Al2O3‐TiO2 nanofluid performance with only 20 simulations, achieving R2 = 0.985 and reducing computational requirements by 78. Edge‐Based Discretizations on Triangulations in Any Dimension, With Special Attention to Four‐Dimensional Space

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This article provides important geometric formulas for node‐centered, edge‐based schemes in any number of dimensions. These formulas are noteworthy, as they do not require the explicit formation of dual regions. We prove several key geometric results, with a particular focus on the four‐dimensional case, due to potential space‐time applications ...
