Note on the Generator of a Ray Resolvent
1986The subject of this note is a characterization for the strong generator of a Ray resolvent. The discussion arose from the question if there exists any Hille-Yoshida type theorem in the context of Ray resolvents. More precisely the problem is the following: Given a compact space K and a linear operator L which maps a subspace Open image in new window of

The wedge subjected to general tractions: A paradox resolved
Acta Mechanica Sinica, 1986In the classical solution for an isotropic elastic wedge subjected to uniform tractions on the sides of the wedge, the stresses become infinite when the wedge angle equals to one of the critical angles. The paradoxon was resolved by \textit{J. P. Dempsey} [J. Elasticity 11, 1-10 (1981; Zbl 0492.73003)] and \textit{T. C. T. Ting} [Q. J. Mech. Appl. Math.

Generalized Resolvents of an lsometric Operator in a Pontrjagin Space
Zeitschrift für Analysis und ihre Anwendungen, 1985In this paper the contractive and generalized resolvents of an isometric operator in a Pontrjagin-space are studied. Especially, the domain of the operator is allowed to be degenerate. The resulting formulae are analogous to the nondegenerate case, but the values of the characterising parameter are now linear relations instead of linear operators.
