Generalized resolvents of isometric operators in Pontryagin spaces

open access: yes, 2015
An isometric operator $V$ in a Pontryagin space $\mathcal{H}$ is called standard, if its domain and the range are nondegenerate subspaces in $\mathcal{H}$. Generalized resolvents of standard isometric operators were described in the paper of A. Dijksma, H. Langer, and H. de Snoo in 1990.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Generalized nonlinear mixed implicit quasi-variational inclusions with set-valued mappings

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2002
In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of implicit quasi-variational inclusions, which is called the generalized nonlinear mixed implicit quasi-variational inclusion with setvalued mappings.

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Parametric generalized mixed variational inequalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, by using the concept of the resolvent operator, we study the behavior and sensitivity analysis of the solution set for a class of parametric generalized mixed variational inequalities with set-valued ...

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

--Accretive Mappings and a New System of Generalized Variational Inclusions with --Accretive Mappings in Banach Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce a new class of generalized accretive mappings, named --accretive mappings, in Banach spaces. We define a resolvent operator associated with --accretive mappings and show its Lipschitz continuity.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.
