Generalized approach to modeling user activity graphs for network security and public safety monitoring

Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Security of Information and Networks, 2013
In this paper, we present a new graph-theoretic approach to modeling user activity in a wide range of information security monitoring tasks. We introduce a notion of a generalized hypergraph that allows direct and holistic representation of complex relationships and context-dependent communications between actors and groups of actors in a network.

Evolutionary Algorithms to Generate Test Cases for Safety and IT-Security in Automotive Systems

2020 IEEE International Systems Conference (SysCon), 2020
The testing process of electronic control units (ECU) is time-consuming and cost-intensive. Virtual electronic control units (vECU) can solve these problems and also offer the advantage of a variety of observation points that are not available with classical ECUs. The additional observation points can be memory access or instruction monitoring.

Test-case generation for marine safety and security scenarios

Proceedings of 2011 IEEE International Conference on Intelligence and Security Informatics, 2011
Marine safety & security is critical for Canada's coasts given the vulnerability of sea lanes, ports and harbors to a variety of threats and illegal activities. Decision support systems and simulation environments play a key role in facilitating surveillance operations.

Securing Safety and Quality in AI-generated Patient Education

CIN: Computers, Informatics, Nursing
Generative artificial intelligence offers personalized patient education, yet clinical inaccuracy and lack of theoretical grounding threaten health care safety. This study validates a “nurse-led” AI protocol for generating safe, theory-guided digital education materials based on Kolcaba’s Comfort Theory.

Genetic Technology in the Light of Food Security and Food Safety – General Report

2015
Genetically modified organisms have been discussed controversially ever since they were subject of legislation and regulation. This reports sheds light on the question how different countries from all over the world have reacted to the emergence of the new technology of genetic engineering and how the law should respond to it.
