Differential Transmission Schemes for Generalized Spatial Modulation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2021
Differential modulation schemes are very relevant in receivers having power and processing limitations, as these schemes dispense with the need for knowledge of channel coefficients for symbol detection. Spatial modulation (SM) is a scheme used in multi-antenna transmission scenarios where the data is transmitted in the amplitude, phase and spatial ...

Deep Learning-Aided OFDM-Based Generalized Optical Quadrature Spatial Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
In this paper, we propose an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based generalized optical quadrature spatial modulation (GOQSM) technique for multiple-input multiple-output optical wireless communication (MIMO-OWC) systems. Considering the

On the Capacity of Generalized Quadrature Spatial Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2023
In this letter, the average mutual information (AMI) of generalized quadrature spatial modulation (GQSM) is first derived for continuous-input continuous-output channels. Our mathematical analysis shows that the calculation error induced by Monte Carlo integration increases exponentially with the signal-to-noise ratio.

2D Generalized Optical Spatial Modulation for MIMO-OWC Systems

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
In this paper, a novel two-dimensional (2D) generalized optical spatial modulation (GOSM) scheme is proposed for multiple-input multiple-output optical wireless communication (MIMO-OWC) systems.

Codebook-based precoding for generalized spatial modulation with diversity

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2019
This paper investigates codebook-based precoding for spatial modulation (SM) and generalized spatial modulation (GSM) systems. Codebook-based precoding allows the system to dispense with full channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT).

Mapping Scheme of Secure Transmission for Generalized Spatial Modulation System [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2020
This paper proposes a new mapping scheme of secure transmission for Generalized Spatial Modulation(GSM) systems to improve GSM security in a time division duplex wireless communication system. The state information of legitimate channels is introduced ...

Iterative generation of holograms on spatial light modulators [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 1990
Iterative learning procedures on a hybrid electro-optic system can be employed to generate holograms on inexpensive liquid-crystal-television spatial light modulators. The algorithm takes into account random electronic noise in the system and compensates for spatial-light-modulator distortions.

On the Mates of Cross Z-Complementary Pairs for Training Sequence Design in Generalized Spatial Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Generalized spatial modulation (GSM) as a novel multiple-antenna transmission technique is an extension of spatial modulation (SM). The GSM system provides flexibility in terms of spectral efficiency, energy efficiency, and the cost of radio-frequency ...

A Unified Precoding Scheme for Generalized Spatial Modulation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications, 2018
Generalized spatial modulation (GSM) activates $n_{t}$ out of $N_{t}~(1 \leq n_{t} available transmit antennas, and information is conveyed through $n_{t}$ modulated symbols as well as the index of the $n_{t}$ activated antennas. GSM strikes an attractive tradeoff between spectrum efficiency and energy efficiency.

Improving Generalized Spatial Modulation Using Translation Patterns [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Communications Letters, 2020
Generalized spatial modulation (GSM) is a spectral-efficient technique used in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communications when the number of radio frequency chains at the transmitter is less than the number of transmit antenna elements.
