Plane waves in nonlocal generalized thermoelasticity
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2022AbstractThe Lord–Shulman (LS) model of generalized thermoelasticity and the Eringen's model of nonlocal elasticity are used to formulate the new constitutive relations and the field equations. The propagation of plane thermoelastic waves are then probed in a homogeneous isotropic nonlocal thermoelastic solid by employing this new model.

Coupled and Generalized Thermoelasticity
2019A structure under thermal shock load, when the period of shock is of the same order of magnitude as the lowest natural frequency of the structure, should be analyzed through the coupled form of the energy and thermoelasticity equations. Analytical solutions of this class of problems are mathematically complex and are limited to those of an infinite ...

Theory of two-temperature-generalized thermoelasticity
IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2006Summary: A new theory of generalized thermoelasticity has been constructed by taking into account the theory of heat conduction in deformable bodies, which depends on two distinct temperatures, the conductive temperature and thermodynamic temperature, where the difference between these two temperatures is proportional to heat supply.

A Generalized Magneto-Thermoelastic Coupled Problem
Key Engineering Materials, 2007two-dimensional problem in electromagneto-thermoelasticity for a thermally and electrically conducting half-space solid whose surface is subjected to a time-dependent heat is studied in the context of Lord and Shulman theory. The solid is placed in an initial magnetic field parallel to the plane boundary of the half-space.

In the preceding chapters, deformations (relative to the dimensions of the body) and temperature changes (relative to the initial absolute temperature) have been assumed to be small. UNIQUENESS IN GENERALIZED NONLOCAL THERMOELASTICITY
Journal of Thermal Stresses, 1993A work and energy equation is derived for the generalized nonlocal thermoelasticity, and it is proved that the associated initial-boundary value problem has a unique solution.

Plane waves in generalized thermoelasticity
International Journal of Engineering Science, 1973Abstract The properties of two dilatational motions in the context of generalized thermoelasticity are studied. The exact solution to the frequency equation is given and the exact values of the real and imaginary parts of the wave number are calculated.

Generalized thermoelastic waves in anisotropic media
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1989In this article, the propagation of generalized thermoelastic plane harmonic waves in homogeneous anisotropic media has been investigated. Four types of waves, namely a quasilongitudinal, two quasitransverse, and a thermal wave, are found to exist. The thermal mode, which was diffusive in nature in the nonthermal relaxation case, now becomes wavelike ...
