Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

An auction framework to integrate dynamic transmission expansion planning and pay-as-bid wind connection auctions. ESRI WP523. January 2016 [PDF]
Efficient renewables deployment requires the minimisation of both internal generation costs and external transmission expansion planning (TEP) costs.

Goal-Oriented Graph Generation for Transmission Expansion Planning
The electrification strategies that are being designed to meet sustainability objectives and rising energy demands pose significant challenges for power systems worldwide and require Transmission Expansion Planning (TEP). This study adopts a risk-informed approach to TEP, formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem that concurrently minimizes ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Optimal development of electricity generation mix considering fossil fuel phase-out and strategic multi-area interconnection. ESRI WP616, February 2019 [PDF]
Increased renewable generation worldwide is posing new challenges for power system planners. The location, as well as the level and operation, of each generation resource is increasingly important.

ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...
