Sperm Quality in Young Bull Semen Can Be Improved by Single Layer Centrifugation
Interest in using semen from young bulls is increasing due to identifying promising animals by genomic selection. However, sperm quality in these ejaculates may not reach currently accepted standards for the cattle breeding industry.

Generalizing the KYP lemma to the union of intervals [PDF]
A recent generalization of the Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov (KYP) lemma establishes the equivalence between a semi-infinite inequality on a segment of a circle or straight line in the complex plane and a linear matrix inequality. In this paper we further generalize the KYP lemma to particular curves in the complex plane, which include the union of segments ...

A Domain of Spacetime Intervals in General Relativity [PDF]
We prove that a globally hyperbolic spacetime with its causality relation is a bicontinuous poset whose interval topology is the manifold topology. This implies that from only a countable dense set of events and the causality relation, it is possible to reconstruct a globally hyperbolic spacetime in a purely order theoretic manner.

Interval MV-algebras and generalizations
For any MV-algebra $A$ we equip the set $I(A)$ of intervals in $A$ with pointwise Łukasiewicz negation $\neg x=\{\neg α\mid α\in x\}$, (truncated) Minkowski sum, $x\oplus y=\{α\oplus β\mid α\in x,\,\,β\in y\}$, pointwise Łukasiewicz conjunction $x\odot y=\neg(\neg x\oplus \neg y)$, the operators $Δx=[\min x,\min x]$, $\nabla x=[\max x,\max x]$, and ...

On the Generating Function for Intervals in Young's Lattice
In this paper, we study a family of generating functions whose coefficients are polynomials that enumerate partitions in lower order ideals of Young's lattice. Our main result is that this family satisfies a rational recursion and are therefore rational functions.

Pedigree analysis of the Latvian Warmblood horse heavy type population
A breeding program has been developed for the Latvian warmblood heavy type horses in Latvia, with the aim to preserve this type, because the number of these horses is small and the status of the local endangered breed has been granted.
