Summary Auxin, indole‐3‐acetic acid (IAA), is a key phytohormone with diverse morphogenic roles in land plants, but its function and transport mechanisms in algae remain poorly understood. We therefore aimed to explore the role of IAA in a complex, streptophyte algae Chara braunii. Here, we described novel responses of C.

Summary The evolution of green plants from aquatic to terrestrial environments is thought to have been facilitated by the acquisition of gametangia, specialized multicellular organs housing gametes. Antheridia and archegonia, responsible for producing and protecting sperm and egg cells, undergo formative cell divisions to produce a cell to ...

Inteligencia artificial generativa

Abstract The rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has ignited a debate about its effects on the mis‐ and disinformation landscape. The doomsday scenarios of epistemic and information apocalypse presented for many years are recently being questioned, and the previous fears are called “overblown.” These phenomena are analyzed mostly through ...

Haploid rhapsody: the molecular and cellular orchestra of in vivo haploid induction in plants
Summary In planta haploid induction (HI), which reduces the chromosome number in the progeny after fertilization, has garnered increasing attention for its significant potential in crop breeding and genetic research. Despite the identification of several natural and synthetic HI systems in different plant species, the molecular and cellular mechanisms ...

Assembling Under the Westway: The Emergence of Social Infrastructure in North Kensington, London
Abstract This paper explores the generative capacity of activist movements defending their community assets from commodification or closure to produce new forms of social infrastructure. We explore this through the case study of activism along the Westway, a motorway in West London. The area has a strong tradition of community activism, particularly in
