This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Scripting technology for generative modeling
S.308-326In the context of computer graphics, a generative model is the description of a three-dimensional shape: Each class of objects is represented by one algorithm M.

JAEGER – Hunting for Antimalarials with Generative Chemistry
Recent advances in generative modeling allow designing novel compounds through deep neural networks. One such neural network model, the Junction Tree Variational Auto- Encoder (JT-VAE), excels at proposing chemically valid structures. Based on JT-VAE, we

Generative modeling for label-free glomerular modeling and classification. [PDF]
Generative modeling using GANs has gained traction in machine learning literature, as training does not require labeled datasets. This is perfect for applications in biological datasets, where large labeled datasets are often difficult and expensive to ...

A generative modeling approach to reconstructing 21 cm tomographic data
Analyses of the cosmic 21 cm signal are hampered by astrophysical foregrounds that are far stronger than the signal itself. These foregrounds, typically confined to a wedge-shaped region in Fourier space, often necessitate the removal of a vast majority ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Tensor tree learns hidden relational structures in data to construct generative models
Based on the tensor tree network with the Born machine framework, we propose a general method for constructing a generative model by expressing the target distribution function as the amplitude of the quantum wave function represented by a tensor tree ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Agnostic latent diversity enhancement in generative modeling
Generative modeling methods can generate images from textual or visual inputs. However, diversity in the generated images persists as a major challenge of the existing approaches.
