Generalized lamp model for light flicker studies
Electric Power Systems Research, 2018Abstract A new generalized lamp model capable of simulating a lamp’s luminous flux in the time domain is presented. Reference is made to low power lamps (up to 25 W). The generalized lamp model consists of a model of the electrical circuit of the lamp and a model of the bulb itself and is based on the use of only three input parameters.

A New Generation of Metal Halide Lamps
Journal of the Illuminating Engineering Society, 1975The continuing study of high-intensity discharge (HID) light sources has focussed attention on the convective gas flows within the arc tube. The arc tube wall temperature as affected by the transport gases has also been investigated. The knowledge and data obtained from these observations yield concepts leading to the development of new light sources ...

Mechanisms of sound generation during flash lamp operation
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2005Changes in sound pressure wave forms by operating flash lamps were studied. In the experiments, two types of lamp were prepared, one of which emitted vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) light and the other did not. We investigated the position of the sound pressure origination, the frequency component, and the relation between the degree of sound pressure and the

"New lamps for old!" (generalized multiple-valued neurons)
Proceedings 1999 29th IEEE International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic (Cat. No.99CB36329), 2003Contributions to multiple-valued threshold logic in the seventies are reviewed at the light of developments in the area of artificial neural networks. It is shown that it is possible to adapt methods of design of feedforward neural networks to generate networks of multiple-valued neurons to realize any multiple-valued function.

General Characteristics of High-Frequency Electrodeless Spectral Lamps
1998At least two kinds of discharges have been known since the 1930s. Following [13] they were named E- and H-discharges. As mentioned in the introduction, the E-discharge is excited in the antinodes of the electric field, and the H-discharge in the antinodes of the magnetic field.
