Cross-National Evidence on Generic Pharmaceuticals: Pharmacy vs. Physician-Driven Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the role of regulation and competition in generic markets. Generics offer large potential savings to payers and consumers of pharmaceuticals. Whether the potential savings are realized depends on the extent of generic entry and uptake

Non-equivalence of antibiotic generic drugs and risk for intensive care patients

open access: yes, 2013
Background: The underlying axiom in applying generic drugs is the equivalence of their active ingredient with the (usually more expensive) innovator product, an all-embracing statement with the insidious result that physicians assume that the generic ...

Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...

Clinical Experience with Timolol and Brinzolamide Fixed-combination: A Case Series

open access: yesOftalʹmologiâ
One of the approaches to improve the adherence of patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) to IOP-lowering eye drops therapy is the use of fixed-combinations (FC), since this makes it possible to reduce treatment cost during combined therapy ...

Professionel ledelse af professionshøjskoler – fortalt og fortolket af to rektorer

open access: yesTidsskrift for Professionsstudier, 2018
”Professional leadership” were some of the keywords when the legislation for University Colleges in Denmark was passed in 2007. In contrast to the previous institutions (seminarium and CVU), the University Colleges should be led by so-called ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Does Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Affect the Adoption of Generic Competition? Evidence from the OECD, 1999-2008 [PDF]

open access: yes
Generic competition in the pharmaceutical market is an effective cost-containment mechanism that improves static efficiency and stimulates pharmaceutical innovation. There is no prior study that has empirically analysed the relative delays in adoption of

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...

Gilbert Sorrentino à l’école des arts plastiques ?

open access: yesItinéraires, 2015
Colour and the visual are central to the works of the American writer Gilbert Sorrentino (1929-2006). Like the modernist poets, Sorrentino was inspired by the visual arts, which allow for a more direct interpretation of the world, whereas words, being ...
