We investigate whether Central European heatwaves (HWs) forming under omega blocking differ from those enabled by subtropical ridges, in terms of both air‐mass origin and processes warming air parcels along their way. Using ERA5‐based backward trajectories and a Lagrangian temperature anomaly decomposition, we identify significant differences in the ...

Quasi‐stationary linear precipitation systems (QSLPSs) are a major cause of heavy rainfall in Japan, persisting over the same region for more than five hours. This study demonstrates that entraining convective available potential energy (E‐CAPE), which accounts for environmental air entrainment during parcel ascent, more accurately characterises the ...

Unexpected sea fog in the west coast of South Korea had a huge impact on the transportations in the Seoul–Incheon metropolitan area. We reproduced successfully the formation and evolution of a sea event with a transition of air–sea temperature difference using the Weather Research and Forecasting model.

This study investigates the statistical characteristics of recurving tropical cyclones (TCs) over the western North Pacific (WNP). We find that recurving TCs are, on average, 38% stronger than non‐recurving TCs, owing to longer ocean exposure, fewer landfalls, and passage through warmer, more favorable thermal environments.

Seeing Heritage Management through Systems Science
ABSTRACT Heritage is influenced by a range of multifaceted factors, such as global issues, power dynamics, entangled legal frameworks and multilayered needs. The interplay of these elements creates a challenging environment for heritage managers, who must navigate a web of stakeholders with diverse interests and values. This paper suggests that systems
