Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...

Genetic Algorithm-based Robot Path Planning [PDF]
Nowadays, building an intelligent robot that able to move by itself from one location to another without collides with other obstacles is of interest in many applications. In the real world, condition of an environment is always unpredictable and changes

In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

2D multi-objective placement algorithm for free-form components [PDF]
This article presents a generic method to solve 2D multi-objective placement problem for free-form components. The proposed method is a relaxed placement technique combined with an hybrid algorithm based on a genetic algorithm and a separation algorithm.

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

An Improved NSGA-III Algorithm Using Genetic K-Means Clustering Algorithm
The non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm III (NSGA-III) has recently been proposed to solve many-objective optimization problems (MaOPs). While this algorithm achieves good diversity, its convergence is unsatisfactory.

On the Implementation and Use of a Genetic Algorithm with Genetic Acquisitions [PDF]
A genetic algorithm is convergent when genetic mutations occur on the objective function gradient direction. These genetic mutations are called genetic acquisitions (Mateescu, 2005).

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.
