The Forecasting of China Natural Gas Consumption Based on Genetic Algorithm
2009 Fifth International Joint Conference on INC, IMS and IDC, 2009Since the natural gas is clean, environmentally friendly and highly effective and its strategic status is increasingly prominent, it is in urgent demand to precisely predict natural gas consumption. In our country, a large number of models to predict natural gas consumption have emerged, but all with unavoidable limitations as any single model.

Some Other Applications of Genetic Algorithms (GAs)
2021As we had already seen that genetic algorithms (GAs) are smart in their working. Here, the authors explore the rich working of genetic algorithms (GAs) in various diversified fields. Until now, they had discussed the historical nature of genetic algorithms (GAs).

Q-GA: a modified genetic algorithm for the design of phase equalizers
ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002This paper proposes the use of a modified genetic algorithm (Q-GA) for designing phase equalizers using the impulse response symmetry error criterion. Such an algorithm is obtained by systematic division of the search space into subspaces, in which a small population evolves, regarding a reduced number of generations.

Optimisation of the gas-exchange system of combustion engines by Genetic Algorithm
2009 4th International Conference on Autonomous Robots and Agents, 2009Current techniques for the optimisation of combustion engine gas-exchange systems still predominantly use trial and error. This paper proposes a new method for the optimisation of these systems through the use of modified Genetic Algorithm techniques, principally a variable length chromosome encoding.

Genetic Algorithm (GA)-Based NPC Making
2015Non-playable characters have always been a special part of video games. Their appearance is more pronounced in role-playing games like the Elder Scrolls series and the Fallout series or in the open-world games like the Grand Theft Auto series or the Assassins Creed series. The presence of these characters is either to provide the player with objectives

Intelligent bionic genetic algorithm (IB-GA) and its convergence
Expert Systems with Applications, 2011As a new kind of intelligence optimization method, genetic algorithms, with the features of simple structure and strong adaptability, achieves great success in many real applications. However, it has many shortcomings such as a greater computation complexity and more chance of being trapped in local states.

GA-Net: A Genetic Algorithm for Community Detection in Social Networks
2008The problem of community structure detection in complex networks has been intensively investigated in recent years. In this paper we propose a genetic based approach to discover communities in social networks. The algorithm optimizes a simple but efficacious fitness function able to identify densely connected groups of nodes with sparse connections ...

Gas Production Rate Optimization by Genetic Algorithm
Energy Sources, 2001In order to satisfy the excessive demand during the heating days, the excessive supply during the nonheating days should be stored and used then. Underground gas storage is the process accomplishing this task. A detailed study of the reservoir and model construction will enable correct forecasts and thus the successful operation of the underground ...
