Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...

Analysis of Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Endemic Endangered Goose (Anser cygnoides) Breeds Based on Mitochondrial CYTB

open access: yesAnimals
The analysis of the genetic diversity and historical dynamics of endemic endangered goose breeds structure has attracted great interest. Although various aspects of the goose breed structure have been elucidated, there is still insufficient research on ...

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

An evaluation of the genetic conditioning of evoking pain

open access: yesAnnals of Agricultural and Environmental Medicine, 2020
Pain is an integral element of the pathogenic process and sometimes determines its course. Disorders in pain sensation, as well as its lack, the pain threshold, and variability in sensation of the same pain stimuli as more or less intensive by different persons, may be genetically conditioned. The aim of the study is to examine genes in pathogenesis of

Identification of a key locus, qRL8.1, associated with root length traits during seed germination under salt stress via a genome-wide association study in rice

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Salt stress is a major abiotic constraint limiting rice (Oryza sativa L.) production worldwide, particularly in saline-affected regions. Improving salt tolerance at the seed germination stage is crucial for increasing stand establishment and ...

Milk progesterone as a tool to improve fertility in dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Milk progesterone offers an opportunity to objectively study fertility in dairy cows, in contrast to traditional measures of dairy cow fertility, which in general are highly influenced by on-farm management decisions.

Modelling genetic evaluation for dressage in Pura Raza Español horses with focus on the rider effect.

open access: yesJournal of animal breeding and genetics = Zeitschrift fur Tierzuchtung und Zuchtungsbiologie, 2014
The most popular use of the Pura Raza Español horse in sport is for dressage competitions. Tests on young sport horses were first established in 2004 in Spain to collect data for the genetic evaluation of this breed's suitability for dressage. The aim of

Insights into pegRNA design from editing of the cardiomyopathy‐associated phospholamban R14del mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.
