Genetic Evaluation for Craniofacial Conditions
Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America, 2016There are thousands of craniofacial disorders, each with a different etiology. All cases of orofacial clefts have an underlying genetic cause, ranging from multifactorial with an underlying genetic predisposition to chromosomal and single-gene etiologies.

Woodger on genetics a critical evaluation
Acta Biotheoretica, 1975A critical analysis of Woodger's work on formal logic in biology, especially genetics, reveals that the claim for the value of such methods in genetics is misplaced.

Genetic Evaluation of Polyposis
Current Colorectal Cancer Reports, 2010There is substantial ongoing work in elucidating the genetics of colorectal cancer (CRC). In this article, the state of the art and clinical application of CRC genetics for syndromic, familial, and sporadic carcinoma are discussed in detail. Clinical manifestations, genetics, diagnosis, and surveillance are discussed for major colorectal cancer ...

Incremental Evaluation in Genetic Programming
2021Often GP evolves side effect free trees. These pure functional expressions can be evaluated in any order. In particular they can be interpreted from the genetic modification point outwards. Incremental evaluation exploits the fact that: in highly evolved children the semantic difference between child and parent falls with distance from the syntactic ...

Evaluating the Seeding Genetic Algorithm
2013In this paper, we present new experimental results supporting the Seeding Genetic Algorithm (SGA). We evaluate the algorithm's performance with various parameterisations, making comparisons to the Canonical Genetic Algorithm (CGA), and use these as guidelines as we establish reasonable parameters for the seeding algorithm.

Measuring the impact of an increased mutation rate on future human generations is a two-fold problem: First one must assess the damage to the genetic material itself, and second, one must determine the likely effect of such damage on the welfare of future generations.

Genetic Evaluation and Testing
2016Genetic evaluation for cancer susceptibility is becoming an integral part of medical care. This chapter provides an update on the genetic basis of breast cancer including genes recently identified which are associated with low to moderate risk for developing breast cancer. Approaches to genetic testing for breast cancer risk are explained. Implications
