A multi-parametric analysis of Trypanosoma cruzi infection: common pathophysiologic patterns beyond extreme heterogeneity of host responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The extreme genetic diversity of the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi has been proposed to be associated with the clinical outcomes of the disease it provokes: Chagas disease (CD).

Genomic Analysis of Milk Protein Fractions in Brown Swiss Cattle

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
Depending on whether milk protein fractions are evaluated qualitatively or quantitatively, different genetic outcomes may emerge. In this study, we compared the genetic parameters for the major milk protein fractions—caseins (αS1-, αS2-, &

Genetic Parameters of Bovine Serum Immunoglobulins

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1985
Radial immunodiffusion techniques were used to determine serum concentrations of immunoglobulins G1, G2, M, and A in 1,293 daughters of 282 Holstein-Friesian sires from 31 herds in southwestern Ontario, Canada. Mean serum immunoglobulin concentrations (mg/100 ml) were 2,163, 2,409, 531, and 107 for immunoglobulins G1, G2, M, and A, respectively.

Technical note: Prediction of liveweight from linear conformation traits in dairy cattle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The objectives of this study were to derive phenotypic and genetic prediction equations of liveweight from linear conformation traits, and estimate genetic and phenotypic parameters for these traits.

Selection of early lima bean lines for grain yield

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical
The scarcity of improved lima bean (Phaseolus lunatus L.) cultivars in Brazil has made it difficult to reach new production levels. This study aimed to select early and high-yielding lima bean lines with commercially desirable seed traits.

Spermogram parameters and genetic abnormalities

open access: yesJOURNAL of SIBERIAN MEDICAL SCIENCES, 2021
The prevalence of genetic abnormalities in men with infertility is 5.8% (n = 9766), of which 4.2% are sex chromosome abnormalities and 1.5% are autosomal abnormalities. In the Russian Federation, this indicator varies from 4.72% (n = 539) (Novosibirsk) to 10.78% (n = 204) (St.

Genetics of Intraspecies Variation in Avoidance Behavior Induced by a Thermal Stimulus in Caenorhabditis elegans. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Individuals within a species vary in their responses to a wide range of stimuli, partly as a result of differences in their genetic makeup. Relatively little is known about the genetic and neuronal mechanisms contributing to diversity of behavior in ...

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.
