Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

Chimeric diphtheria toxin–CCL8 cytotoxic peptide for breast cancer management

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
DTCCL8 is a recombinant fusion toxin that targets cancer cells expressing chemokine receptors. By combining diphtheria toxin with CCL8, DTCCL8 binds to multiple receptors on tumor cells and induces selective cytotoxicity. This strategy enables receptor‐mediated targeting of cancer and may support the development of chemokine‐guided therapeutics ...

The critical role of DNA damage‐inducible transcript 4 (DDIT4) in stemness character of leukemia cells and leukemia initiation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Stemness properties, including quiescence, self‐renewal, and chemoresistance, are closely associated with leukemia relapse. Here, we demonstrate that DNA damage‐inducible transcript 4 (DDIT4) is induced in the hypoxic bone marrow niche and is essential for maintaining the stemness of AML1‐ETO9a leukemia cells.

Fluorescently Labeled Adenovirus with pIX-EGFP for Vector Detection

open access: yesMolecular Imaging, 2004
Adenoviruses are extensively studied in terms of their use as gene therapy vectors and pathogenesis. These vectors have been targeted on both transcriptional and transductional levels to achieve cell-specific gene delivery.

Properties and use of novel replication-competent vectors based on Semliki Forest virus

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2009
Background Semliki Forest virus (SFV) has a positive strand RNA genome and infects different cells of vertebrates and invertebrates. The 5' two-thirds of the genome encodes non-structural proteins that are required for virus replication and synthesis of ...

Unveiling unique protein and phosphorylation signatures in lung adenocarcinomas with and without ALK, EGFR, and KRAS genetic alterations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Proteomic and phosphoproteomic analyses were performed on lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) tumors with EGFR, KRAS, or EML4–ALK alterations and wild‐type cases. Distinct protein expression and phosphorylation patterns were identified, especially in EGFR‐mutated tumors. Key altered pathways included vesicle transport and RNA splicing.
