Geniculate Ganglion Meningioma [PDF]
The geniculate ganglion is an unusual location for an intratemporal/intracranial meningioma. We present a case of meningioma intrinsic to the geniculate ganglion that presented peculiar features on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) and magnetic resonance imaging.

IntroductionThe visual signals evoked at the retinal ganglion cells are modified and modulated by various synaptic inputs that impinge on lateral geniculate nucleus cells before they are sent to the cortex.

Geniculate quadruple sectoranopia [PDF]
Quadruple sectoranopias are wedge-shaped visual field defects that can be caused by lesions in the medial and lateral portions of the lateral geniculate body.1 By definition, there is involvement of two homonymous segments of each …

Does Corticothalamic Feedback Control Cortical Velocity Tuning? [PDF]
The thalamus is the major gate to the cortex and its contribution to cortical receptive field properties is well established. Cortical feedback to the thalamus is, in turn, the anatomically dominant input to relay cells, yet its influence on thalamic ...

ARC/Arg3.1 expression in the lateral geniculate body of monocular form deprivation amblyopic kittens
Purpose The present study compared the expression of activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein (ARC/Arg3.1) in the lateral geniculate body between form deprivation amblyopia kittens and normal kittens to examine the significance of ARC/Arg3.1 in

Computed tomographic features of the proximal petrous facial nerve canal in recurrent Bell's palsy
Objectives The primary objective was to determine whether the narrowest dimensions of the labyrinthine facial nerve (LFN) canal on the symptomatic side in patients with unilateral recurrent Bell's palsy (BP) differ from those on the contralateral side or

Regional specialization of the tongue revealed by gustatory ganglion imaging
Summary: Gustatory information is relayed from the anterior tongue by geniculate ganglion neurons and from the posterior tongue by neurons of the petrosal portion of the jugular/nodose/petrosal ganglion complex.
