Short‐Term Oral Spermidine Supplementation Modifies Aspects of Neurodegenerative Disease in Flies and Mice With MPS III

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Mucopolysaccharidosis type III (MPS III) is a group of autosomal recessive neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorders that causes progressive cognitive and physical impairment, predominantly in child/early adulthood. The median age of death is 17 years as there is no safe, effective treatment approved.

The relationship between the cannabinoids and cardiac remodelling: A comprehensive review of pivotal mechanisms and emerging evidence

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 9, Page 1747-1778, May 2026.
Cardiac remodelling and fibrosis after myocardial infarction or during chronic diseases, such as arterial and pulmonary hypertension or diabetes mellitus, continue to be the more important prognostic factors in determining survival, and so the search for effective anti‐fibrotic interventions is an important target for research and therapy in cardiology.

Is There a Relationship Between Secondary Metabolites of Leaves and the Growth of Eucalyptus Species?

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Flavonoids are essential molecules that affect plant growth and development and act as defense mechanisms against biotic and abiotic factors. This study aimed to assess whether the content of flavonoids in different species of Eucalyptus is related to tree growth.

The effect of resistance training and genistein on leptin and lipid profile of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease which can lead to increased levels of leptin and lipid profile. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of resistance training and genistein on leptin and lipid profile of streptozotocin-induced diabetic ...

Improvement of genistein content in solid genistein/β-cyclodextrin complexes

open access: yes, 2013
Genistein: β-cyclodextrin complexes with high drug loading (19.22%) were prepared by freeze-drying and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The spatial configuration of the complex was proposed by means of 2D-NOESY experiment combined with molecular modeling.
