Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1988 Genital herpes (GH) is the second leading cause of sexual transmitted disease in women and the third in men. About 40% of female genital herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and the remaining by type-2 (HSV-2). Fifty four percent of primary female GH was caused by type-1, whereas 86% of recurrent cases by type-2.

Allergic Contact Dermatitis of the Vulva
Contact Dermatitis, EarlyView.Patch testing reveals high rates of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) in patients with chronic vulvar complaints, with spices, herbs, fragrances, and preservatives showing significant clinical relevance. Tailoring patch test series to individual exposures is crucial for improving diagnostic accuracy in ACD affecting the vulvar region.

Genital Herpes Zoster: A Rare Location That Can Mimic Genital Herpes
Sexually Transmitted Diseases, 2021 Abstract Herpes zoster is an acute, cutaneous viral infection caused by the reactivation of varicella-zoster virus. Genital dermatomes are involved in only up to 2% of cases and are probably underrecognized. We present a series of 7 genital herpes zoster cases diagnosed in our Unit of Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Genital Herpes and pregnancy [PDF]
Journal of Clinical Research and Reports, 2020 Female patient aged 30, at 7 months of pregnancy, admitted to gynecology for genital pain associated with pruritus that has been evolving for one week . On clinical examination, she presents a vulvar edema, ulceration with polycyclic contours and some vesicles on the periphery. The diagnosis of herpes genital was confirmed.
