Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Integrative multi-omics analysis widens annotation and functional insights into long non-coding RNAs of Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesBiology Direct
Background Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play key roles in regulating plant growth, development, and stress responses. Despite their increasing identification in plant transcriptomes, a systematic characterization of lncRNAs is still lacking, leaving a ...

Molecular dissection of quantitative variation in fiber elongation between Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium barbadense in reciprocal near-isogenic lines

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
In reciprocal interspecific near-isogenic lines developed by crossing elite cultivars Acala Maxxa (Gossypium hirsutum) and Pima S6 (G. barbadense) representing the two major domesticated species of cotton, we identified genomic locations underpinning an ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Comparative BAC end sequence analysis of tomato and potato reveals overrepresentation of specific gene families in potato

open access: yes, 2008
Background Tomato (Solanum lycopersicon) and potato (S. tuberosum) are two economically important crop species, the genomes of which are currently being sequenced.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Measuring the loss of duplicated genes in plant genomes assembled by means of short reads.

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction The assembly of a genome is a complex task, whose hardest step is the resolution of repeats. As these regions are usually considered of minor concern for the description of the features of the genome, they are often poorly characterized in ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
