Genome size in birds

Chromosoma, 1972
Nuclear DNA amounts of twenty-three species of birds from seventeen families of seven orders were determined by Feulgen cytophotometry. Genome size is constant in these birds, the ratio between the largest and smallest genome in the sample is 1.3 to 1.

Cytology and genome size.

2013
Abstract This chapter summarizes cytological studies in quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), including those covering chromosome structural/physical organization, chromosome number, cytological techniques, and nuclear DNA content.

Genomic Stress, Genome Size, and Plant Adaptation

1991
The concept that the plant genome is fluid and dynamic in regard to the quantity of certain DNA sequences is presented by Cullis (Chapter 9, this volume). The generation, dispersion, and deletion of repetitive sequences apparently provided the quantitative variability that evolutionary processes have acted on to generate the several hundredfold range ...

Heterogeneity in Genome Size

2002
Abstract The replicated haploid nuclear genome referred to as its C value has been determined in a broad spectrum of angiosperms that encompasses large differences in taxonomic affinity and biological properties. This C value varies over a very broad range, from about 0.2 pg. in Arabidopsis thaliana to 127.4 pg in Fritillaries assyriaca (
