Mapping the Trypanosoma cruzi Genome: Analyses of Representative Cosmid Libraries
In order to generate contiguous cosmid coverage of the genome of the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi for large-scale sequence analysis, a cosmid library of 36864 individual, primary clones was generated.

Construction and characterization of a BAC-library for a key pollinator, the bumblebee Bombus terrestris L [PDF]
.: The primitively social bumblebee Bombus terrestris is an ecological model species as well as an important agricultural pollinator. As part of the ongoing development of genomic resources for this model organism, we have constructed a publicly ...

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

ISOLATION AND SEQUENCING OF A GENOMIC DNA ENCODING FOR ASCORBATE OXIDASE, A KEY ENZYME INVOLVED IN THE BIODEGRADATION OF ASCORBIC ACID IN MELON [PDF]
A melon genomic library was used to isolate and characterize a clone of genomic DNA coding for ascorbate oxidase (AO) which is considered a key enzyme in the biodegradation of ascorbic acid (AA).

Trypanosome mRNAs share a common 5' spliced leader sequence. [PDF]
A 5'-terminal leader sequence of 35 nucleotides was found to be present on multiple trypanosome RNAs. Based on its representation in cDNA libraries, we estimate that many, if not all, trypanosome mRNAs contain this leader. This same leader was originally

Loci specific epigenetic drug sensitivity. [PDF]
Therapeutic targeting of epigenetic modulators offers a novel approach to the treatment of multiple diseases. The cellular consequences of chemical compounds that target epigenetic regulators (epi-drugs) are complex.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Alectinib resistance in ALK+ NSCLC depends on treatment sequence and EML4‐ALK variants. Variant 1 exhibited off‐target resistance after first‐line treatment, while variant 3 and later lines favored on‐target mutations. Early resistance involved off‐target alterations, like MET and NF2, while on‐target mutations emerged with prolonged therapy.

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular
