Classification of genus two knots which admit a (1,1) decomposition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We describe the genus two knots which admit a genus one, one bridge position. These are divided into several families, one consists of vertical bandings of two genus one $(1,1)$-knots, other consists of vertical bandings of two cross cap number two 2-bridge knots, and the last one consists of genus two tunnel number one satellite knots.

Advances in Hybrid Icing and Frosting Protection Strategies for Optics, Lens, and Photonics in Cold Environments Using Thin‐Film Acoustic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides a comprehensive overview of fundamentals and recent advances of transparent thin‐film surface acoustic wave technologies on glass substrates for monitoring and prevention/elimination of fog, ice, and frost. Fogging, icing, or frosting on optical lenses, optics/photonics, windshields, vehicle/airplane windows, and solar panel ...

Statistics of genus numbers of cubic fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We prove that approximately $96.23\%$ of cubic fields, ordered by discriminant, have genus number one, and we compute the exact proportion of cubic fields with a given genus number. We also compute the average genus number. Finally, we show that a positive proportion of totally real cubic fields with genus number one fail to be norm-Euclidean.

StahlDigital: Ontology‐Based Workflows for the Steel Industry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The strength of the steel industry is based on the mastery of microstructure–property relationships. Digital workflows contribute to this aim by making the complexity of workflows reproducible and their execution user independent. The tools and workflows developed in the project StahlDigital as part of the German MaterialDigital initiative are ...

Genus fields of global fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper we obtain the extended genus field of a global field. First we define the extended genus field of a global function field and we obtain, via class field theory, the description of the extended genus field of an arbitrary global function field. In the last part of the paper we use the techniques for function fields to describe the extended
