Localization genus [PDF]

open access: yesPublicacions Matemàtiques, 2017
Which spaces look like an n-sphere through the eyes of the n-th Postnikov section functor and the n-connected cover functor? The answer is what we call the Postnikov genus of the n-sphere. We define in fact the notion of localization genus for any homotopical localization functor in the sense of Bousfield and Dror Farjoun.

The genus Simplicillium [PDF]

open access: yesMycoKeys, 2019
Simplicilliumspecies have a wide host range and an extensive distribution. Some species are associated with rusts, as well as other plant pathogenic fungi and play an important role in biological control. In this study, two specimens ofSimplicilliumwere collected from Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.Simplicillium formicaesp. nov.

Humoral Immune Response Diversity to Different COVID-19 Vaccines: Implications for the “Green Pass” Policy

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
In the COVID-19 pandemic year 2021, several countries have implemented a vaccine certificate policy, the “Green Pass Policy” (GPP), to reduce virus spread and to allow safe relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions and reopening of social and economic ...

Using pre-selected variants from large-scale whole-genome sequence data for single-step genomic predictions in pigs

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 2023
Background Whole-genome sequence (WGS) data harbor causative variants that may not be present in standard single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) chip data. The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of using preselected variants from WGS for

Genus for biomolecules [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2019
Abstract The ‘Genus for biomolecules’ database (http://genus.fuw.edu.pl) collects information about topological structure and complexity of proteins and RNA chains, which is captured by the genus of a given chain and its subchains. For each biomolecule, this information is shown in the form of a genus trace plot, as well as a genus ...

Genetic and phenotypic time trends of litter size, piglet mortality, and birth weight in pigs

open access: yesFrontiers in Animal Science, 2023
IntroductionLitter size in pigs has increased steadily since 1990. Because of unfavorable genetic correlations with piglet mortality, breeding goals should include survival traits next to litter size.
