Geochemical characteristics of Cretaceous carbonatites from Angola

Journal of African Earth Sciences, 1999
Abstract The Early Cretaceous (138–130 Ma) carbonatites and associated alkaline rocks of Angola belong to the Parana-Angola-Etendeka Province and occur as ring complexes and other central-type intrusions along northeast trending tectonic lineaments, parallel to the trend of coeval Namibian alkaline complexes.

Petrographical and Geochemical Characteristics of the Mauritanides Belts’ Birbirites

2019
The Gouerarate region represents the most important area of birbirites’ outcrops, sited in the Mauritanides Belts. In this paper, the petrological description of such facies is highlighted. The Gouerarate Birbirites are mainly composed of silica (chalcedony and microquartz) and talc, geochemically characterized with high SiO2 level (up to 80%).

Geochemical characteristics of Kau Bay water

Netherlands Journal of Sea Research, 1989
Water in Kau Bay (Halmahera, Indonesia) differs chemically and physically from the water in the adjacent Pacific Ocean. Ventilation of the bay, with a maximum depth of 480 metre, is restricted by the presence of a sill at the entrance of the bay at a depth of 40 metre.

Geochemical Characteristics of Carbonatites

Nature, 1962
THE lava from Fort Portal in western Uganda, recently described by von Knorring and Du Bois1, was considered to be carbonatitic in view of the high carbonate content and its agreement with the characteristic trace element pattern as observed among true carbonatites, which are in the main calcitic or dolomitic rocks.

Geochemical characteristics of Greek thermal springs

Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research, 1989
Abstract A systematic sampling of all known thermal springs and gas emissions of continental Greece has been carried out. The main gas and water composition, and some trace elements in liquid phase (SiO 2 , H 3 BO 3 , NH 4 + and Li + ) have been determined.

Geochemical characteristics of biogenic gases in China

International Journal of Coal Geology, 2013
Abstract A number of contributions have demonstrated that the stable carbon and hydrogen isotopic compositions together with molecular compositions have a great significance on determination for gas origin and gas generation pathways of biogenic gases.
