GEOCHEMICAL MAPPING OF IRON QUADRANGLE REGION BY ACTIVE STREAM SEDIMENTS, STATE OF MINAS GERAIS, BRAZIL

open access: yesGeochimica Brasiliensis, 2018
The geochemical survey of Iron Quadrangle was performed by the Geological Survey of Brazil - CPRM involving geochemical data from the area between 42o30´W and 45oWand 19o30´S and 21oS, totalling 45.000 km2. Active stream sediment was analyzed.

Geochemical Characteristics of Synthetic Hydrocarbon Inclusions in Rock Salt-Crude Oil and Their Implication for Oil Source Comparison

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2016
Petroleum inclusions are widely used in hydrocarbon accumulation, but the lack of direct experimental evidence means that proof cannot be determined as to whether petroleum inclusions inherit the fluorescence and geochemical characteristics from crude ...

Apatite in Carbonatite Preserving Primary Magmatic, Post‐Magmatic Overgrowth, and Post India‐Asia Collision‐Related Hydrothermal Alteration: Evidenced From U–Pb Isotope and Trace Element Geochemistry

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
U–Pb isotope and trace element geochemistry of apatite from carbonatites of Peshawar Plain Alkaline Igneous Province, western Himalaya shows Permo‐Carboniferous magmatism, an additional magmatic pulse during Cretaceous, and post‐magmatic hydrothermal/metasomatism during Oligocene. ABSTRACT U–Pb isotope and trace element geochemistry of apatite combined

Heterogeneous Exhumation Mechanisms in Neoproterozoic Collisional Metamorphism: P–T Constraints From Pelotas and Punta del Este Terranes, Southern Brazil and Uruguay

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Petrography, thermobarometry, and pseudosection modelling reveal peak metamorphic conditions of 3–7.5 kbar and 520°C–800°C in Tonian‐Cryogenian orthogneisses of the Dom Feliciano Belt. Metamorphic field gradients of 27°C/km–39°C/km and variable exhumation mechanisms support correlation of these units as remnants of a Himalayan‐type Piratini Orogeny ...

Heavy metals at the Guadalquivir estuary

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2003
Temporal surveys at the Guadalquivir estuary were carried out between May and December 1998 to assess the behaviour of four heavy metals (Zn, Cd, Pb and Cu).

Miocene to Quaternary Tectonostratigraphic Evolution of the Northern Section of the Burdur‐Fethiye Shear Zone, South‐Western Türkiye

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.

Improving efficiency of oil recovery and finding a source of watering in multi-zone deposits by geochemical methods of research

open access: yesGeoresursy, 2020
One of the strategic ways in the development of multilayer fields is to identify the source of water inflow into the well production and, as a result, to eliminate it with subsequent optimization of the production of non-watered formations.

New geochronological constraints on Late Pleistocene glaciation in the southern Cadí Massif, SE Pyrenees

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Cadí Massif (42°17′09″ N, 1°38′11″ E; 2649 m a.s.l.) in the southeastern Pyrenees preserves clear evidence of Late Pleistocene glaciation, although previous research has focused almost exclusively on its northern slope. By contrast, the southern slope has remained largely unexplored.

Managing and visualising geochemical data for tephra correlation with the IntChron Integration Tool

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT There is now a wealth of glass‐shard geochemical data for volcanic ash (tephra) layers from a wide range of volcanoes and eruptions, providing invaluable datasets for tephrochronology. However, compilation of published data to assess tephra correlations leads to large files and requires careful management.
